February 28, 2016

Linda Bass in chair 2 (Fort Worth, Texas)… Jacquelyn A. Flynt, executive director of Dispute Resolution Services of North Texas Inc., Tarrant County’s designated dispute resolution center that focuses on the peaceable and expeditious resolution of citizen disputes, has announced that Linda Bass has joined DRS North Texas as volunteer & training coordinator, a new position at the agency.

In addition to supporting current volunteers and helping identify those who may wish to volunteer in the future, Mrs. Bass will also develop relevant quality mediation training for current volunteers, and other individuals who are interested in becoming mediators or learning more about dispute and conflict resolution techniques. She will also work with case specialists on implementing an equitable system  for making mediation assignments.

“Our goal is to give the volunteers more mediation opportunities ideally suited to respective skill sets and experience levels and to increase their levels of expertise,” said Mrs. Bass. “We can then leverage opportunities and resources available for parties who seek dispute resolution through DRS North Texas.”

Mrs. Bass brings to her role 10 years as a co-mediator with DRS North Texas and over 30 years professional experience with State Farm Insurance.  She and the other DRS team members work to support the 200-plus volunteers who provide quality, low cost mediation services for Tarrant County courts and area communities.

Founded in 1982 and serving Tarrant County and surrounding areas, Dispute Resolution Services of North Texas Inc. is a non-profit community dispute resolution center, an organization of professional volunteer mediators who provide affordable mediation services and teach mediation and dispute and conflict resolution, an effective conflict resolution alternative.
