Aggie Employee Annette Smith Completes Ten Years of Service (WHOOP!)

December  15, 2016

2016-news-release-phot1_smith-annette-blue-dress(Fort Worth, Texas)… Dispute Resolution Services of North Texas recognizes Annette Smith for ten years of services on December 18th. While studying at Texas A&M University, she had dreamed of working for a non-profit. December 2006 that dream became a reality when she became a Case Specialist for DRS of North Texas. “Working at DRS of North Texas has enabled me to fulfill one of my career goals to provide a meaningful service that helps others,” says Mrs. Smith.

Later, Mrs. Smith was promoted to Case Specialist & Training Coordinator. As Training Coordinator, she worked to develop a successful expansion of the types and number of high quality mediation trainings provided by DRS of North Texas. In 2015, Mrs. Smith traded in her Training Coordinator hat, for that of Marketing Coordinator. She has approached the many challenges of the new position of Marketing Coordinator with the same diligence, work ethic, and commitment to excellence that she displayed in her work as Training Coordinator, and that she continues to display as Case Specialist.

“I believe in the mission of the agency”, she states,” and feel privileged to work at such a wonderful place with unmatched volunteers. It is a shame more people are unaware of the services provided by Dispute Resolution Services of North Texas. I hope to help change that in my role as Marketing Coordinator.”

Annette’s co-workers as well as the many volunteers she works with on a daily basis, respect and greatly appreciate her for her dedication to DRS of North Texas and the mediation process, her willingness to take on new challenges, and her professionalism. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication with a Spanish Minor from Texas A&M University.

In addition, her and husband Yancy Smith recently celebrated their one year wedding anniversary. (Whoop!) In her personal time, she enjoys being an active member of her church, spending time with family and friends, feeding her cinema addiction, and doting on her baby- a miniature Chihuahua named Grizzly.

Serving Tarrant County and surrounding areas, Dispute Resolution Services of North Texas Inc. is a non-profit community dispute resolution organization of professional volunteer mediators who provide affordable mediation services and teach mediation and dispute and conflict resolution, an effective alternative to litigation.
